Random Fact # 5

Again, I'm going to double this fact as one of my EDM challenges - Challenge #26 - Draw anything you like.

Random fact #5 - SAMBOY barbecue flavoured potato chips are a major weakness of mine. I simply can't say no to them and SAMBOY barbecue chips are the only flavoured chips I will eat. Other than that, I am purely a plain-salt, potato chip gal! Sometimes, when I open a packet and munch into that first chip, the taste and smell instantly transport me back to a time when I was around 20 years of age and at a Drive-In to see the first Rocky movie. Kinda like when a certain song will drag up a past memory. Do any of you get that reaction with a certain food too? I can tell you this drawing was lucky to make it this far as it took all my willpower not to grab the bag of chips, open them and just munch away. lol

  1. Incredible drawing - I had to look a couple of times to make sure it was a drawing! I've never heard of this brand of potato chips - maybe I'm better off never tasting them...

  5. Yes, I agree with the others! It's very easy to mistake it for the real thing! Great job picking up the reflection details.

I wasn't sure it was a drawing until I saw the strokes in the shadow of the chip bag. Nice work!

  8. I haven't heard of this brand of chips either, maybe its a regional brand. great job with the highlights and on all the creases in the bag. :)

If I eat marshmallows, I am reminded of sitting around the bonfire stuffing my face, listening to everyone talk, listening to music (sometimes live) and laughing as the dog would steal an adults beer bottle and go running away with it. ( we did not encourage them to do it, and more often than not it was us kids that had to run after him to grab him before he drank it lol [and yeah booze and fires don't mix, not everyone was drinking, just don't want people to think that])
hmmm sorry for the long comment :)

  9. Thanks, everyone! I just checked the details on the Samboy packet and they are Made in Australia by the Arnott's company so that may explain why most of you haven't heard of them. A pity as you're missing out on a great taste sensation ;)

Jennifer, what a lovely scene you set in my mind with your description. I haven't been camping in a very long time but I used to love sitting around the camp-fire at night. Thanks for sharing ~ :)

  10. We don't have Samboy chips here...at least not that I know of...but we do have BBQ chips.

This is a fun drawing, even though I'm more of a nacho cheese girl myself. :)

  13. Thanks, Jessica! There's barbecue chips and then there's SAMBOY barbecue chips...lol I don't mind Nacho Cheese in corn chips but only if there is nothing else to munch on.

Thanks, Boyd! Thanks for sharing your weakness for chocolate or maybe that should be...beautiful ladies? ;)

Thanks, Belinda! Glad I inspired you. I need to replenish my stocks as the packet I used for my reference didn't last too long after I finished the drawing. :)

  14. Serena, That's amazing. I thought the bag was a picture you took of the original bag, then realized when I clicked on it, that it's your drawing...Outstanding... Ro

  15. This is a great sketch. It's never happened with food, but with music. Dancing in the Moonlight by Van Morrison specifically! lol! The color is wonderful and it almost looks like a photograph. That's your style. Beautiful!
