Rainbow Lorikeet - Work In Progress - Stage Six

Another cold, bleak day greeted me this morning but, despite the cold studio, I rugged up and managed to squeeze in some time to work on the lorikeet just before lunch. Unfortunately, I did waste some of that time cleaning up a spill over the painting table when, at one point, I blindly reached out for the reference image only to tip over my full mug of hot, green tea instead. I'm sure I'm not the only artist to have studio mishaps like that? Thank Goddess I don't have sugar in my tea. lol

So, here are my efforts from today's time in the studio -

  2. Your painting looks like a photograph, it's so good. As for mishaps and me....they seem to occur anywhere I happen to be!

  3. Been following your progress with the amazing acrylic of the lorikeet. Colours are wonderful, composition most unique and detailing you are adding incredibly good. Looks like a lot of work and time put in but great result.

  4. Thanks, Maria ~ :)

Janet, it sounds like you have my problem. Lately, I seem to be knocking things over a lot! lol

Thanks for your positive feedback, Joan. It probably seems like a lot of time has gone into it because I've been posting the images since the beginning of the month. However, the reality is that I haven't managed a lot of spare time to actually sit down and work on it daily. I've only managed the odd hour here and there over any given week. I have a lot of family distractions with four kids still living at home and teaching two classes a week also takes away from my own painting time. I just dabble in the studio when I can. I really need to work out a better time management plan. :)

  5. Sorry about the spill incident. If there is such a no-spill cup, life would be more excellent! The lorikeet is coming along fabulously, Serena. When I saw stage 5, I thought it was already great. But, now with more detail on it, it is much prettier :)

  8. Thanks, Luci. :)

Thanks, Julie. You are such a sweetie....I haven't done any more work on it yet but I still need to build layers on the body and add a little more emphasis to the head. The next pic I post of the Lorikeet should be the final one. :)

I was looking at some of the past entries in my edm art blog that I started over a year ago and I instantly recognized you and remembered your work...and so, I clicked on over here.
Greetings! Your work is as colorful and heartfelt as I remember! Hope you are well.
