From the studio

There was painting going on in the studio today but it wasn't by me. Barb, my student, came for an art class. She liked the new studio too because it provides lots of natural lighting through the window. This year has been a crazy one for both of us as, between us, we have missed so many classes due to illness, surgeries, holidays/vacation, and appointments. It felt great to be back in the saddle, so to speak, though it will only be for two more weeks before the Christmas school holidays are upon us and we take a break from classes until next year. Hopefully, 2010 will be a lot more productive for Barb and I as far as our art goes.

OH! I just realised that next year will be a no. 3 year in Numerology and 3 and 5 are my personal numbers in Numerology so.....look out!

Thank you all for the words of encouragement re. me getting back into the studio yesterday after what seemed like a very long painting drought. You are truly the best supporters a girl could have! I'm so glad that my muse has finally come home to play instead of traipsing off to God only knows where. I'm going to have to sit that girl down and give her a stern talking to.

'til tomorrow.....

Love, light and peace

  1. Hi Serena,
Glad to see you back in the studio after a long break.
Looks like a bright and airy place to spend some quality time.
    Your latest drawing is fantastic.

  2. How wonderful to teach a class in your home! I used to teach, but I'd have to drag my stuff an hour away and try teach 10-12 at one time. I think one on one would be tons of fun, for teacher and student!
    Thanks for your visit Serena!

  3. I've been very unproductive of late. I have to move my desk to make room for the Christmas tree in coming weeks. I keep thinking why bother starting anything new.

  5. Great sketch - your sketches are always so clean and colorful...no matter what the subject. Glad you are finally getting back to your studio. I envy Barb being a student of yours. If I lived nearby you can bet I would want you as my art teacher.

  6. You do great illustrated journal pages, so I can see why you'd like to do that. But you're good at the collage paintings, too. And the acrylic paintings. Oh heck! Do them all! :):)

Glad you guys had a good session. Nice to get back into the swing of things--and in a new spot! :) :)

  8. I know all too well what happens when your muse goes missing. I still have to kick mine in the rear, but she's been much better in the past year or so.

So glad yours came back to you.

  10. I used to hang with a girl that did numerology and learned a bit ...but, it was all so long ago..I have totally forgotten it. Actually I did change my name a bit then...and began using my first name instead of my second which had been used all my life til then...and have to say... my whole life changed .... for the better! Just one thing after the other...... what a whirlwind... and then... I got so busy and so much happened...I never even gave it a second thought I guess....
oooh...roll on lucky and good things years..... I wonder what my good numbers are? lol..... I'm thinking I like 8 .... ...and of course...just to be bad... our Mum would always choose 13 and pretend she was a witch.... hhmmm my weird family.....
