First day of summer & a messy space

Yes....summer is here!

Today, Michelle came over and helped with more sorting, de-cluttering, and organising in the garage. We still have quite a ways to go. We managed two car loads to the local recycling station and/or dump and there is still more to go, and to organise, and to put away as you can see by the pics below. I'll just be glad when it's all done because all the lifting and sorting is playing havoc with my back right now.

All the mess you see in the pics has been moved out of cupboards and shelves so that we can re-sort and re-pack them into different areas to make more room. I doubt I'll get much done tomorrow as my back is usually always worse the next day but, over the coming week, I'll gradually make my way through it all.

I'm currently using the new Blogger Editor and I'm not too sure if I like it yet. I'm used to working in the HTML section but this new editor doesn't have the option to upload pics in the HTML view....not sure I like that.

Anywhoo, I hope you are all off to a great start for December....YIKES!!!

Christmas is nearly here, folks!!!

Have you done your Christmas shopping yet?

Love, light and peace

  1. I'm so jealous! I want summer!!!!

I'd suggest a hot bath for your back with epsom salts, but with the heat you have there that might not be the most comfortable thing!

  3. Do take care of that back Serena. It is amazing how much we can collect over a period of time and never realise it until we start doing major organisation or move house. I am sure you will get everything done but take your time don't rush to get everything finished and put your back out.

  5. If you saw my garage you'd think yours looks neat and tidy!! HB and I get out there and work on it in spurts and spells but never seem to make much headway.

I haven't even started thinking about Christmas shopping!! But then my list of recipients is very small.

Don't over-do. Take care of your back.

  13. Oh wow! I know how you feel. Just remember it always LOOKS worse just before everything gets put into place.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your journal page!
    The sun, your handwriting...so cool!
I wish I lived closer - I would come over and help tackle that job with you, and then we'd drink lemonade in the warm temperatures!

*It always blows my mind how your seasons are opposite to mine. Here in Canada, we're expecting snow!

    :)

  14. Happy summer! We're moving into winter but still have the air conditioning going. But suppposed to cool down abit by Friday.

Isn't it the pits cleaning out clutter? I got rid of lots over the weekend, but to be honest, I should have gotten rid of even more.

  15. Hoping your back is all better by now, Serena. Love your journal entry, so very sunny. I'm freezing right now, about to go get myself under a blanket with a new novel I'm totally engrossed in, so I'm kinda jealous of your sunlight.

Kudos to you for the clearing work! I know it can be so tough -- but so rewarding. I'm very bad at it and must have help from my sis (talented at organization) or I will be overwhelmed and teary within an hour of beginning. You are doing so well :)

  16. Seeing your beautiful faced sunshine, so pretty.
So pleased you are managing to have clear out. We do tend to get so much stuff. I'm the same. Great to recycle.
Hope your back ease's off quickly for you and you can do the rest of your clearing and feel fresh and have space.
    Have a great weekend!
    Hugz!

  21. Take care of that back, Serena...my life story so I know exactly how you feel.

Lovely journal page and as almost everyone else has said, it is so hard to believe you are beginning summer as we enter winter here.

    Take good care~
