new purple bag

yesterday, when brad, aaron and i went shopping, i noticed that shops are starting to stock their winter range of clothing and accessories.  i was happy to see that dark purple is going to be one of the popular colours for this coming winter.....although i'd be happy with it all year round.

for some time now, i've been on the lookout for the perfect bag to no avail......until yesterday, when i spotted this gorgeous purple bag on special.  well.....how could a girl say no to that?!  usually, my problem is that a bag is either too large with just one huge compartment where everything gets lost in it or, it's just a tad too small to hold all the things i like to carry with me.  this bag seems to fit the bill perfectly.....time will tell i guess as i wear it in over the next couple of weeks.

  12. Your sketch is darling. And the purple suits you perfectly. One of my best friends, now living in Texas, sadly, has a purple obsession, and her treasured purple bag has now lasted several seasons of careful use.

I'm just now looking at my dark brown winter bag with new, spring eyes and wanting something both brighter -- and bigger! I like them so roomy I can lose things in there, but also can carry all kinds of things handy to have in any situation. I suspect that habit comes from when I was nanny to three children under four, and needed to be prepared for all kinds of contingencies. ;)

  15. Looks like a great bag, wonderful sketch page!

It seems unreal that winter is approaching there just as we welcome spring...purple was a huge winter colour here last year and I managed to purchase a whole outfit (trousers, long jumer and suede boots) in the sales that I haven't even got around to wearing yet. Still, the way spring is looking with all this rain...I still have plenty of time to get some wear out of it all!
    Enjoy your bag!

  17. Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments.

Meredith - You and I are much the same as I carry all sorts of bits and pieces in my bag. I prefer having compartments though so I can keep everything organised. I get frustrated trying to find things in a single compartment bag. My shoulder usually pays for all the extra weight though but you just never know what I might need at any given time. lol

    Awesome drawing too.

  19. I love purple, too. It drives me crazy when all the stores are only carrying the five colors someone has decided are "in" that year and I don't look good in any of them. Lovely sketch.

  22. Serena -- What a lovely sketch of your new purple bag. You would get a long great with my eldest daughter. She always seems to have a new bag or, in her case, a new pair of shoes:~)

I also liked the purple on your site!! I hope the bag is just the right fit:~)

  23. Eden - No, it didn't come in red. :(

Kelly - I agree. I much prefer colours be all year round and not just seasonal when it comes to fashion.

Thanks, Sara. I normally use the same bag forever until it starts falling apart and I need to find a replacement.....but finding the perfect replacement bag is never an easy task for me. I'm loving my new purple bag!

  27. Serena, that is a beautiful color for a bag. I love purple and yellow together and it also looks awesome with lime green. I love your bag and good that you found it.Lucky you! Great drawing as well. Thank you for doing a link on your blog for my giveaway. I so appreciate, you are too kind. I want to apoligize for not being here for a couple of posts but life has been busy and I'm still trying to also catch up on PPF's blogs. It has gotten to be a big party. Take care of yourself and hope you haven't been getting to many migraines. My son Val used to get some really bad migraines.:(
    Take care dear amiga.
