Day 16 - AEDM & Nablopomo - mandala, sketch & magpies

thanks for all the well wishes regarding my migraine yesterday.
it left me feeling a little cloudy-headed today but it's all good.

one of my readers has been having an intermittent problem accessing my blog. she will sometimes get a message saying "this blog does not exist" and i was wondering if anyone else has had this experience with my blog? my daughter was telling me today that, while it hasn't happened with my blog, it has happened recently with another blog she visits. hopefully, it's just a temporary blogger glitch because i'm totally stumped.

today i was back at michelle's so we could finish off the triptych revamp.
again, i got to spend quality time with beautiful, little mikayla.
grandchildren are so special!

i played with another mandala this morning.  at the moment we are just working on creating designs and we will then be colouring and detailing them over the next couple of weeks.

for a few weeks now, we've been getting regular visits from a family of magpies.
i love birds!

the babies are the brown colour and they are just about the same size as their parents. the funny thing is that they will stand beside their parent squawking like crazy until the parent picks up the food we have thrown out and feeds it straight into their mouth. i don't get why the baby just doesn't bend over and pick up it's own food....too funny!

i'll be at home all day tomorrow so will hopefully be spending more time in the studio.

until then

~ love, light and peace ~

  1. Magpies are so gorgeous to watch, but not as much as your grand baby girl, I'm sure!

  4. Your granddaughter's room is lovely, and your triptych makes it all the more beautiful! We don't have magpies in Minnesota, but I remember seeing them when I was in the SW United States many years ago. Interesting birds to watch.

  6. I haven't had any problems accessing your blog, but I had seen that on a couple other blogs within the last couple weeks. But if I waited and went back they opened up? No clue. Just computer craziness.

Love the re-do of the triptych! Glad you got to spend more time with Mikayla and Michelle. You must miss not going shopping with them every week anymore. I know I would. :)

We don't have Magpies in Minnesota or North Dakota or Wisconsin (only states I've lived) so I have never seen one. They have a striking appearance and--I have heard before--a lot of personality. I love birds, too! Thanks for the pics. Baby birds are funny!

I'm glad your headache is gone. At least I hope it is. Take care of yourself, my friend. Love and hugs!!

  7. Such a pretty room... love all that bright pink! The bird triptych is very sweet and makes a fun, bold focal for space. Great shape the mandala is taking...there are so meditative to create. We have magpies here. Last year we had a nest of magpie babies in our big lilac shrub--fun to keep watch on. :o) ((Love & Light))

  8. No, I haven't had any issues like that. Although, I have had some errors when trying to comment; a lot less since your tip about making sure Blogger didn't keep me signed in though, so thanks for that!

Glad the head situation is a bit better today; at least the pain is gone... You can deal with brain fog if there's no pain!

    I love birds too!

  14. I'm so glad that you're feeling better and your migraine has abated Serena. And I really like the changes you've made to the triptych...I thought it looked good before but the changes have given it a real punch!

We don't get magpies around here so although I've heard and read lots about them, I've never actually seen one. I love birds too and their social interaction with each other always amazes me.

  15. I've had that happen once with another blogger blog--it was several months ago, though, and no problems at all accessing yours! Funny story about the baby magpies :)

  18. Love the finished triptych.

Magpies are fantastic. Most people don't like them, but they're so fantastically coloured and full of character :)

Your blog did go missing on me a few days ago, hence the "Welcome back" comment.

  19. The finish triptych is so lovely. And about the blog issue, sometimes when someone posts something they didn't actually mean to (instead of waiting until the next day or whatever) and they remove it, I get that message in Reader.

As soon as the post is again published, it shows up as usual.

  20. I haven't experienced it with your blog but I have had it a couple of times over the last couple of weeks saying something similar to this - probably another wonderful blogger improvement lol The canvas' look fantastic, suit the room perfectly. Hope you're in fine health by tomorrow x

  21. Your granddaughter's room is beautiful. How wonderful to be able to create something that she can treasure forever. I am looking forward to watching what you do with the Mandala. That is something I have never done. I am still loving my Inktense pencils.

  22. Your triptych looks wonderful on the wall. What a great room for your grandbaby who now walks. Wow! Sorry about your headache, glad you are a little better. I'm still dizzy but doing exercises with my head, up/down/side to side and taking my dizzy pills and bp pills. I'm a wee bit better, not much and am still going to see a neurologist. Take care and be well.

  29. The triptych is just lovely! She is a lucky little lady! While my husband was in Australia on business a few months ago, he took a video of a magpie which I shared with my first grade students. Their call is so distinctive. The students loved it!

  30. Hi Serena,
No problems here with visiting you!

How sweet Mikayla's room is with all the pretty pinks AND you get to paint and play with her.
    Ah, Bliss!

Great Mandala, I need to practice more and learn to be neat. lol
    Creative hugs,
    Anna

  31. I just love the colours in Mikayla's room and the triptych goes perfectly.
We have a lot of magpies that have been around us for a while now; very cheeky too, they tease my little dog mercilessly. Funny about the babies not feeding themselves, maybe they have been watching our current generation of kids for too long haha
