Day 25 - AEDM & Nablopomo - Bali Buddha

i was feeling much better today.

brad (my eldest son) and i went out mid-morning to run a few errands and pick up a few groceries. it was quite a hot, humid day and the promised rain didn't really eventuate. just light drizzle early morning which only added to the humidity factor.

come afternoon, i decided to do a pen sketch of the buddha i have in my bedroom.

he came from bali and is made from wood.  he used to be a dark brown colour but i painted him aqua.

out came my derwent inktense pencils for a bit of colour

I think he suits aqua very well, and your drawing is in your ususal fantastic style.
Will you do AED in December?

    Hope you do!

  2. I think the way youve painted him aqua is so creative and suits you as the other comment said too. I would never have thought of that idea to do that! yes, he said a lot of wise and true things... youve captured him well in the sketch.

  4. Your Buddha and sketch are wonderful. Thank you for today's quote. It was just exactly what I needed to read today. I think I am going to incorporate it into something I can look at first thing every morning.

  7. A beautiful page, and the colour matches your statue perfectly.

I might point my youngest over here and see what she thinks - as long as she doesn't decide to paint her buddhas blue!

  8. Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! I love your page, but also the fact you painted him aqua in the first place - when someone else has made something I'm usually afraid to touch it, you're inspired me to do as I please :) x

  10. Thanks, everyone!

Gwen - I'm not sure yet if I will be doing AEM for December but it is tempting as I've met some lovely people through the group. However, I will continue to visit them regardless.

Krissie - Thanks. Yes, he certainly did have a lot of wisdom to share with us.

Pauline - Yes, I painted the abstract about my Buddha, not all that long ago in fact. It was my second abstract and I truly enjoyed creating it.

Ginny - Thanks. I'm glad one of the quotes resonated with you today.

Tammy - Thank you! That's very sweet of you.

Lia - Thanks. Sketch journaling is a lot of fun and I do enjoy looking over my sketch journals even now.

Thanks, Nigel...glad you liked the page.

Jennibellie - Thanks! I feel if you can make a change that will help you connect more with a piece, why not? I have never regretted painting my Buddha aqua...it's definitely more me.

Rita - Thanks! I know, it's quite exciting! It's now the 26th here...only FOUR days left! YAY! I still can't believe I've managed to hang in there.
