Day 2 of Art Every Day Month - More progress

My progress on the multi-canvas painting
isn't too noticeable today as I mostly gave it
a second coat of paint and extended the tree right tree branch.
One more coat should do it before I start on the foliage.

It's hard to get a decent pic of the whole piece
because it's quite large.
The full dimensions are 145cm (57") wide by 104cm (41") high.

I spent the morning catching up with blogs then,
Reece (#3 son) called in to visit which was nice.
He's quite happy with how his painting is progressing. PHEW!

Yesterday, I trimmed all the dead flowers
from my Kalanchoe plant.
This was a pic I took in October
when it was in flower.
So pretty!

See you tomorrow!

    1. Thanks, Julie! It sure is. I love AEDM....debated on not participating this year due to hectic things going on in my life but I just couldn't help myself. It helps keep me on track and I need to get back into blogging.

  4. It's fun to watch as this painting progresses. I had NO idea it was that large. It is going to be awesome when you finish it.

I had a Kalanchoe plant I got in CA one year. Mine was potted, of course. They are awesome, but I put mine out too early one spring and a freak freeze in early May did it in. Yours is beautiful.

    1. Thanks, Elizabeth. Yes, this is probably the largest project I've worked on. It should look quite spectacular on the wall when finished...hope so anyways. My Kalanchoe is potted too....it was my Mum's but I admired it so much when I visited her place one day, she gifted it to me. I was SO happy!

    1. Thanks, Jennifer. I'm hoping it will have a sunset feel to it by the time I'm done. The colour I'm using is Burnt Umber which is VERY close to black. I hope you're feeling better today. xx

  9. It's coming along beautifully Serena. Nice work. I once had a Kalanchoe, but I killed it with too much water. They are beautiful. Have a great day.

    1. It was a busy but good day yesterday. I'm liking the multi-canvas so far....I'm apprehensive about the foliage part because I'm used to working in light, mid-tone and dark to give shape and emphasis which I can't do with a silhouette. Wish me luck!

  12. Serena, I just logged onto my blog for the first time today and saw your question. Apparently your blog is one G+ blog I can comment on. It takes me directly to your post. I had no idea there were two different ways to set G+ up, but since I'm still an old school blogger, I had no idea. Yes, I've discovered that some G+ blogs take me directly to the post and some take me to a home page where there is no contact info available unless I'm a G+ person OR in their "circles." Thanks for asking, and clarifying the G+ problem I'm having.

    1. It shouldn't take you to Google+ unless they put the link in for their Google+ profile but it's weird that it's doing that. If you do get taken directly to a Google+ page, check out the tabs at the top and choose About. The info in the About tab should give you a blog address if they have one.
