Scribble Picnic - Blanket

Hello friends,

This week, the prompt for Scribble Picnic is BLANKET.

I thought I'd go for something cutesy this week. A little platypus curled up under her blanket, fast asleep. Sweet dreams, little one.

Sketched with Platinum Carbon pen, watercolours, and Prismacolor pencils in Moleskine watercolour notebook.

Next week, we will have another 'Fill In The Blank'...what fun!

I also did my INKtober portrait sketch for Day 4 of 31 but I will post that tomorrow along with whatever I do for Day 5...probably another portrait. I wanted this post to be all about Scribble Picnic.  You can check back on previous posts to see what I've been up to for INKtober.

  1. This gave me such a chuckle Serena, and a platypus is certainly unique from this side of the world (North America)!

  4. Little platypus sure looks cozy. I've been tossing and turning at night lately so takes me hours to get to sleep.

    1. Thanks, Tammy...I hope you've managed some restful nights by now. I can identify though after having quite a few similar nights, tossing and turning, trying to get relief from pain.

  5. Well that's one delightful little creature I won't be seeing any time soon - unless someone treats me to another trip 'down under'!!!!!!
I love the blanket - and the pillow - and leaving her sharp looking claws sticking out make her even more exciting.
Do you actually see them in the wild in your area Serena? I know they inhabit eastern rivers - they have quite an interesting story.

Lovely take on the theme - happy week.

  7. That takes quite an imaginative mind to put the two words together - platypus and blanket but you did it and with such flair! Love it.
