Has there been a recent spraying of pesticides or herbicides? Do they do crop dusting in Australia? If so, maybe there was a drift of the dusting over your area? I hate crop dusting- just seems crazy to spray toxic chemicals over a wide area from a plane. But it's a common practice in the States.
