My eyes are much the same which is why I haven't been online a lot. I can only spend short stints at the computer due to the glare on the screen. I see the Optometrist on Friday which can't come soon enough for me. Amazingly, I only ended up with one bad migraine....I expected more with this amount of eye strain.
I did manage a couple of sketches this weekend.
Yesterday, Aaron had a doctor's appointment and we had to wait an hour past our appointment time because the doctor was running behind schedule. Unfortunately, our doctor's clinic is rather dull and boring so not a lot of interesting things to sketch. I ended up drawing one of the chairs. The cow was drawn later at home. It's the head of Cody's soft, squeaker toy and it was within easy reach when I was pondering what to add to the page.

Pencil-free sketch in A6 Moleskine pocket sketchbook using
ZIG Millennium pen, PITT pens, watercolours and watercolour pencils.
It rained on and off today
with heavier downpours expected tomorrow and Tuesday.
It ended up being an odds and ends kinda day.
I cleaned bathrooms,
dyed my hair and pottered around mostly.
I clipped Jack's nails too which were long overdue.
LOVE these doggy nail clippers!
They're so easy to use.

I totally sympathise with your eye probs! I saw my specialist on thursday and had good news, but after the tests I had a throbbing pain in the back of my head - akin to a migraine all weekend! So staying offline for a while as I get my eyes back to full strenghth! good luck with yours too!
ReplyDeleteExcellent journal sketches ~ sending your lots of healing hugs ~ ^_^
ReplyDeleteEven with your eye problems you've still done some good sketches. I love the little cow! And all those new art goodies look like fun. I hope you get your eyes back to normal soon. I'll keep sending good thoughts your way.
ReplyDeleteHope you eyes get better soon... love the sketches, especially the cow.. :)
ReplyDeleteVery ingenious! I love how smoothly you blended the cow watercolor with the doctor's office chair into one page. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteYour page looks like a really cool postcard to me - really thoughtful :)

ReplyDeleteLove the sketch of the clippers, and we have the same ones for mushu... they are great... and hope your vision improves soon... an awful thing to suffer through... enjoyed reading back through all your posts and catching up on all you have been up to...xx
ReplyDeleteSerena, i love the randomness of your illustrations. Those clippers are AMAZING. And oh, those art treats you bought yourself!
ReplyDeleteI hope your migraines get better. I'm amazed at how great your sketches are (when they're done with a migraine!) Such an artist... xox
i love the sketches this week! Praying your eyes are better and you don't have any more headaches!
ReplyDeleteClever sketching....hope your eye problem will be soon relieved
ReplyDeleteXx
Hope your eyesight is better and you have less headaches - nothing worse. I love that you treat yourself so well! - I do, too! Why are some doctor's offices so boring - every once in awhile, I am in a good one - but my regulars could use some feng shui and some decor help. Go figure...'science types' perhaps is the key - 'left brained' hierarchy.
ReplyDeleteI hope your doctors appointment goes well. I think vision problems can be really difficult to deal with. I love your sketches, they're wonderful little bits of your life so lovingly depicted!
ReplyDeleteHope your eyes get better soon. I loved your rainbow picture and the beautiful photos you took. Take care
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely comment on my blog. It's always nice to meet another animal loving artist online. I'm sorry to hear you've been having eye problems. I hope it isn't anything serious. Your sketches are fantastic-those dog nail clippers are brilliant (it's the one thing I can't do for my dogs as I'm nail/claw squeamish!)
ReplyDeleteThat doctors office chair must have been hard to sketch, but you did it beautifully, as usual Serena!!! Good luck with your eye appt. Hey, I just found out that there is evidence to support that when you get a migraine, you run out and get a freezing cold thing to drink or eat, and give yourself a brain freeze, and the migraine will go away. It has something to do with changing the blood flow. You can read about it here: Migraine relief with ice cream. Hope it might work for you!
ReplyDeleteOnly you could draw a chair and doggy clippers and make them interesting. Ha! Sorry to hear about your eyes. My husband was having major headaches for a while and after being to the doctors and trying to figure out what was wrong, he finally went to the eye doctor and got new reading glasses. I haven't heard him complain so much about headaches since that time so it must have helped. Hope you get some relief. Have a great week. Tammy
ReplyDeleteooooooo derwent watercolours! my favourite . must get some dog clippers too!
ReplyDeleteHi Serena,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your eyes. Hope the Dr. on Friday can solve the issue.
I love the sketches and the goodies that you bought for yourself. So happy that you did.
Please take care and sending healing hugs.
Hi Serena!
