Scribble Picnic - Cookie

Hi everyone,

Another busy week has passed by and it's Scribble Picnic time again. This week, Michael chose 'COOKIE' for the prompt.

I decided to create a cartoon-type skit done very quickly. I may redo it at some point and refine a few things.

These two little mice are carrying a large sultana cookie back to the mouse hole but they run into a problem when they get there...

YIKES!!! Me thinks that their Mum won't be too happy with them when she sees what they did.

The whole skit was done over two pages in my Moleskine sketchbook which doesn't take watercolour too well. Next time, I will use the Moleskine watercolour notebook.

Next week, the prompt is 'GIFT WRAP'....come along and join us. To find out how, click HERE.

On another note, I'd like to thank you all for the well wishes last week. I had the cortisone injection on Monday...yes, it hurt, but it was bearable. I was told to rest the hip for a few days and that the cortisone would kick in after three days. The pain seems to have eased somewhat....YAY!

I will post the rest of my INKtober sketches over the coming days. Time got away from me last week.

I hope you are all having a lovely week so far.

Yay to pain easing up! It sucks though, having to deal with needles, shudder...I LOVE your scribble this week Serena, it's so cute and so well done! Those mice better get back out for another cookie!! :) I really love it! :)

I am glad that shot did you some good. I hear they are no fun at all.

Your skit is quite cute. I thought the ending would be that they were too big after eating the cookie to fit through the hole. Such a creative and cute piece.

What you gonna do when you can't get the cookie through the hole. Eat it, of course. Makes sense to me.

You do a great job with cartooning and your lettering too. I was thinking perhaps they'd be like me and nibble off a bit too much. Hahaha. Great stroy telling adn great cookie too. I love Sultana cookies. or really more biscuits I;d say ..and something one does not find here at all, weirdly enough. :) Thank you, Serena. Aw, that's a cute story and a darling illo, Latane. I love it! So glad you had fun with this one. I try to be sure to always included some prompts that I think might be easier. :) BTW, the blogger issue with commenting seems to be fixed now.

Glad there's some reduction in the amount of pain you're suffering with the hip.

Clever and cute, Serena and I am glad you didn't show Momma Mouse's wrath when she saw what the children have done. I don't think this needs any refining ... it is a delightful cartoon :)

Thanks, Tammie. OH, what a good idea it would have been to make the mice too big to fit through the hole...clever!

My thoughts exactly, Latane. hehe

Thanks, Michael! I love sultana biscuits/cookies too. We call 'cookies' biscuits here in Oz. And the American biscuits are similar to our scones but I think our scones are lighter and fluffier. :)

Thanks, Alexandra...glad you like it. I thought I'd do the two mice rolling the cookie to their mouse hole and then I thought....why not do a cartoon skit and the story idea just developed as I went along. :)

Thanks, Jolene. I hope the cortisone injection does the trick long term too. :)
