i'm happy with how they turned out and i enjoyed the technique of gluing and wrapping the embroidery cotton around the pieces. thanks, ro.

you may notice that the red hooded character ended up being a raggedy doll character instead...that's just what i felt drawn to do.
on another note, thanks to some torrential rain, our drought of ten years in south east queensland has been officially declared OVER!!! it didn't come without costs though. one poor man lost his life when gale-force winds picked up an awning from somewhere and sent it crashing through his office window yesterday. there was severe flooding in many suburbs and some areas were classified as disaster zones. luckily, we live in a suburb that was safe from the flooding though there was a lot of water on the roads and very strong winds with the heavy rain made for dangerous road conditions. yesterday was definitely a day for spending indoors. today, the rain eased though i'm not sure if there is still more to come.
Our rains continue in my area,too. Our drought is over! I think this storm system is supposed to start moving out of the area Sat. I'm ready to see the sun again.
These turned out great! What a clever idea. I am SO GLAD the drought is over for you, and now I pray ours will be one of these years. So sorry about the man though.

Too bad the weather has to go from one extreme to the other. I hope no one else is hurt in the flooding. Glad for the moisture, tho--sounds like you really needed it! :)

Thanks, Serena. Yes, 10 years of drought....of course, we have had bouts of rain during those ten years but never enough to break the drought....our dams have been at critically low levels for the past couple of years. Now, the dams are nearly all full from the last news report I heard...YAY!

Serena -- I am so glad to hear that the drought is over! Australia certainly had a rough time of it.
I live in Florida and we suffered drought conditions, but when Hurricane Faye visited, she washed away our drought.
I'm sorry that your drought ended with floods...do stay warm and dry:~)

The torrential rain system has moved south of us into New South Wales and, from what I saw on the news, it is causing lots of flooding there too. :(
