As promised, here are some pics of the baby shawl I have started crocheting for Michelle's baby due in December.
This is the blanket/shawl pattern I am following. I have kept this pattern book for over 27 years now as I made a few different baby things from it for Michelle and her brothers when they were babies. It makes me so happy that I am now making something for my first grandchild from this very same book.
Michelle chose baby yellow for the colour because, as yet, we don't know what sex the baby is.
~ Love, light and peace ~
It's beautiful. I still have all the pattern books my mum used for me when I was a baby
ReplyDeleteSerena,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you and Michelle!
I know that the blanket/shawl will keep the baby warm and cozy because it is stitched with Lots of Love!
Blessings,
Norma
Oh how beautiful! I wish I could knit...it seems to be such a calming thing to do. I love the color... Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteSerena, that is absolutely adorable! And I feel horrible, I didn't even catch that Michelle is expecting! That's awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visits, I love them and I apologize for being so slow at stopping by here!
How very precious with love in every stitch. I like the pattern of the blanket, and it doesn't look too difficult. How exciting it is to make plans for a new little one.
ReplyDeleteJust been catching up with you and have been feasting my eye on all the lovely eye candies. Believe it or not I went and bought a book on crocheting today determined to learn a bit of crochet. I shall have to browse the net for some more explaining as the book is not that great in explaining.
ReplyDeleteHow fun to be using the same pattern for your new grand baby! I love baby yellow. It always reminds me of baby chicks or baby ducks and that translates to soft. Your work is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow, it's beautiful, Serena. I bet yellow will age very well, too, and it might become a keepsake. How sweet is it that Michelle had things from this pattern book when she was an infant? Touching, really.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you to be a grandma!
Serena, it's coming out great. I wish I could knit. You are doing an excellent job and the momma and the baby are going to be extra happy. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThis made me cry, Serena...how amazing to be creating something from the same book you used for your children! Wow.....breathtaking!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the soft yellow color. It is soothing and happy at the same time. Every stitch of this blanket is a testimony of love. This baby will never lack of it :)
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. I can tell you that the first grandchild will always be so special in your life --- not that the rest aren't, but there is something a little different because he/she teaches you how to be a grandma. My Hunt did that for me.
ReplyDeleteYou are so fortunate to have this blessing coming your way.
That's lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I wish I knew how to do that. I've tried to learn.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! And it is just awesome that you are using the same book you used to make things for your kids. Just made me feel warm all over and gave me a grin! Can hardly wait to see it when it is finished. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done! Didn't know you crocheted (: This will be so special for your grandchild. I saved the sweater sets my mom made for my babies when they were born and they were handed down to the first born child of each of my son's.
