self portrait and treats

oooooooops, i did it again!
yesterday, in the spur of the moment, i decided to hack/cut my hair!
i chose to make it my self-portrait for week 14 in my personal 52 weeks of me challenge.

i'd been feeling like a change for about a month now as my hair was getting to a length that made me feel a little frumpy.  michelle was talking about cutting her hair when she visited on friday and i think it rekindled the desire to just go ahead and DO it!   the back was a little tricky but i managed it okay and i coaxed aaron into trimming away any uneven stragglers at the back.  yes, i'm trusting, aren't i?  he's only 12!  what can i say...when my mind is set on something, i tend to throw caution to the wind.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
aaron and i had to get blood tests on friday and, afterwards, we had a treat at 'muffin break'.

a boysenberry muffin and a hot chocolate for aaron

a cappuccino and a warmed scone with jam and whipped cream for me

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
judging by the pic below, me thinks i need to get out more often

cobwebs on my car's side-view mirror!
perhaps i have a shy passenger hiding behind the mirror?

 ~ i hope you've all been enjoying a lovely weekend ~

love, light and peace

  1. Your hair turned out so nicely! It sure is easier if you can just cut your own! Those goodies you all had looked just heavenly! The cappacino has me wanting coffee right now. I forgot I made a pot a few hours ago...maybe I will go heat up a cup!

  4. I think your hair looks great!
What delicious looking treats for you both!
With some of the down under spiders you've taken pictures of, that would freak me out to find on my car door! I get out so seldom my car gets dusty and it is in the garage--hehe! But no spider webs, so far. Too cold for them to be on the move till recently--hehe!
Hope you're having a great weekend and feeling wonderful! :)

  10. I thought of getting my hair cut too Serena, but I like wearing braids or two pony tails or one pony tail and with short hair I won't be able to do that. I like you haircut though, in fact it looks pretty good. That cappucino and scone looks delish. Have a great week Serena.

  11. I am sorry but I had to laugh about your traveling companion! Um...I wonder if Spiders gets car sick?

Love your home hair cut style, it is nice to give yourself a treat every now and then.

Now you made me hungry for something sweet.

  12. I cut my own hair once in high school. Looks like you did a pretty good job of it. I don't think I would let my 12 year old cut anything. He can't even cut a straight line on a piece of paper. :/ That scone looks yummy! I have an easy recipe for scones -- should make some soon. You know those spiders are mighty fast spinners! Even if you cleaned up that web, it could be back in no time. Have a fantastic day! Best wishes, Tammy

  16. What a funny and loving post!
I loved your new hair Serena! yes, you are trusting, but what can I say, I am like that, too! I trust people so much and tell them so, that they feel kind of obligated to be good. Which is great to everyone at the end.
