YES!!
I completed the 75 day pen/ink daily sketch challenge!
I can hardly believe that I sketched each and every day
for 75 days. I must admit that the time seemed
to fly by.
There were days when I very nearly gave up but
I'm glad I didn't.
I'm feeling quite proud of myself.
So, here are the final FIVE!
Note that all sketches are pencil-free using any or all of the following -
BIC Pro ballpoint pen
ZIG Millennium 005 pen
Micron 03 pen
Micron 05 pen
Faber-castell Artists PITT pens in F, B or SC sizes

Before I started the challenge, I was lucky to fit in a sketch once a week
because I never seemed to find the time with so many distractions of daily life.
This challenge has shown me that I CAN make time to sketch daily
and I'm loving it!
I feel too that the challenge has helped to hone my skills in observation and
also in achieving values and tones with only pen.
It may be too soon to say but I think I've now developed a daily habit
as I haven't stopped yet.
When I heard the tragic news of the shooting in Connecticut
yesterday, I reached for my sketchbook to help deal with and express
my emotions.
And today's sketch below
which I'm also linking up with Sunday Sketches.

I'm now off to watch a movie with Bradley and Aaron.
I hope you're all having a nice and relaxing weekend.
~ Love, light and peace ~
Congratulations on your Challenge. Love your sketches.
ReplyDeletecongrats, you are a master sketcher, what can I say. And it is evidenced in these beautiful sketches this week, wow!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing the challenge! Your work was the inspiration that got me started and I feel I'll be learning more now that I've switched from using so much color to mostly sketching...working more with shapes and shading. Thanks for also introducing me to two wonderful groups on FB. I love seeing everyone's work and all the different styles.
ReplyDeleteSerena ~ these are excellent sketches ~ such talent ~ congrats on completing the challenge ~

Good for you! I am so impressed and I've loved following you through this journey. Your sketches are incredible. I especially love your animal sketches this week. Your passion for them shines through in your sketches. Do you sketch them from photos or just from memory?
ReplyDeleteCongratulation on your completed challenge! Love your sketches, so strong and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS! You did it! What an undertaking - and you stayed with it for 75 days, you are an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love every one of them..and NO Pencil makes it even more special! I bet you feel like you have learned a lot, drawing and sketching is so good for 'seeing'. I like the Guinness piece - perhaps you should do more of that one - ha!
Congratulations on doing the challenge, and no pencil, wow! First time here, and loved all your drawings.
ReplyDeleteCongrats for sticking with the sketch challenge; Yay for finishing; and kudos for continuing. Your drawings really are all so very lovely. Especially touching are the angel wings in response to the tragedy. I just don't understand how such things can happen and why anyone would want to hurt young, innocent children. Wishing you a wonderful week. Tammy
ReplyDeleteCongratulations serena on completing your epic challenge. I have loved watching your journey and seeing what you sketched each day. Congratulations again! x
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing the challenge. What a great accomplishment! I've enjoyed viewing your posts and sketches. Very inspiring. :)

ReplyDeleteSuperb work, as always! :) Congrats on finishing the "sketch a day" challenge!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you! You did a great job there! Take care.
ReplyDeleteSerena, congrats to you on 75 days of sketching! You have good reason to be proud of yourself.
ReplyDeletei doubt that i'd be able to do it. Not that i don't love sketching, but as soon as there's a spark of commitment in the air, i start to hyperventilate. :-)
Your artwork is beautiful and yes, such lovely tributes to those poor children and their families in Connecticut. My heart is heavy too... xox
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you stuck it out. You're an inspiration. :):)
yep, just as RIta said, CONGRATULATIONS Serena, that's awesome. I had a difficult time doing AEDM, a month of days, you're a hero for 75 days. I also love your sketching ability and you inspire me daily. Many happy wishes for a Merry Christms to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteMuch Love,
Jenn
Serena, I'm sorry I don't stop in so much these days. I'm really terrible when it comes to keeping up with Blogland. But I want to wish you a wonderful holiday season, and the happiest of new years. Sending you love from NYC! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSerena, I just stopped by to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas. I'll be back after the New Year.
ReplyDeleteSerena, I remember these pictures of yours! You and I finished the 75 Day Challenge on the same day. That was 4 years ago and I am still sketching. Will never be as good as you but I enjoy it and that's all that matters! My eternal thanks to Brenda Swenson for running this, and I treasure my artistic license!
ReplyDeleteArlene Abel Lennox
That's right, Arlene — I remember that we finished the challenge together. Glad to hear you are still sketching...so am I. I'm sure you do great sketches but yes, the enjoyment is what's important no matter what level we are at. I treasure my Artistic License too — carry it in my purse.
DeleteI would have gone and visited your blog if you had one but, when I click on your name, it says your profile is not available. So I will wish you all the best with your continued sketching and I thank you so much for dropping by my blog. It was a treat to see your name pop up in my comments list. :)
