Scribble Picnic - Flower Bed

Thanks so much for all the well wishes on my hip ailments. I will be attending physiotherapy this Friday which will hopefully help my hip and my chronic back condition. It's been a pretty rough week in more ways than one so the Scribble Picnic challenge has been a pleasant distraction from it all.

The challenge theme this week is FLOWER BED.

I decided to sketch up a flower bed featuring daffodils which has been my favourite flower since childhood. Mrs Katy Koala is watering the daffodils as I type.

Our challenge for next week is a FILL IN THE BLANK...we must create a piece that includes at least 'one square with an X inside it touching each corner'. Time to get the thinking caps on...

  12. Whilst I am of course sorry, Serena, you've had to contend with so many ailments and pain and certainly hope everything improves for you, so glad you were able to do this piece and even have it be somewhat a distraction. It's lovely and ,like you, I've loved daffodils since childhood- they are also my favourite flower. I love the cute koala. the whole stly eof it is charming!

See you next week, I hope, for the "fill in the blank" which starts with an "X" touching the corners within a square!

  14. I adore everything about this illustration Serena! Katy and her dress, her watering can and the perspective of the looooong flower bed as she waters. . . and the daffodils. Where I grew up they didn't pop until early April but where I live now, they arrive in late January! In either case, along with crocuses, they always represent the seasonal change and, for me, a winter-loving soul, the bittersweet end of the bare vastness of a winter landscape as Spring's lushness arrives. They're like the scouting party sent ahead by the larger flower brigade to see if the way is clear. lol

Sending you light and wishes for healing and comfort ahead!
