This is my take...I thought of glasses from the beginning in a variety of ways but this little critter won out. I guess his camera could pass for the prompt too.
First the pen sketch
A couple of watercolour layers to build colour
Then some Prismacolor pencils and a Posca paint marker for highlights to finish him

Thanks, Rain! I added in an extra progress pic for you with more explanation on what I did. Basically, after the initial pen sketch, I added a couple of watercolour layers, then used Prismacolor pencils to enhance the watercolours. I use a white Posca paint marker for the highlights and also came back in with my black fountain pen to give him more emphasis. So glad you like him. :)

Oh thank you so much for the explanation! When I see how lovely your stuff turns out I wonder if I can ever achieve that. I never thought of adding the colored pencils over the watercolours, what a great idea! I have my Prismacolor pencils that I just love, I hope you don't mind if I borrow your technique in the future!! :)
Not at all...enjoy playing with the technique. And yes, you WILL be able to achieve it. The more you practise, the better you will get.

A clarification...my Prismacolor pencils colouring pencils. They are not the Prismacolor watercolour range. Not sure which ones you have but, whatever the case, you can still use watercolour pencils and simply not add water to them.

Thank you Serena, I actually have the Prismacolor Premier coloring pencils. I have a set of watercolor pencils too but I don't use them that much. And thank you so much for your encouragement!

This is just fabulous Serena - so colorful, and love his beak and feet. Then blue dungarees are perfect too!
Your explanation for coloring is so helpful - you are kind to share how you use the pencils. I really should look for one of those white Posca paint markers as often I wish I had a way to add highlights. Pencils, reg. and watercolor are what I am using for as you know I'm no artist, but do use them to add color to my edited photos. It's all so much fun.

I'm always happy to help other artists progress along in their journey.
There are a few white pens on the market that I have used - a Signo one, and a Gelly Roll...but I do find I always come back to my Posca paint marker because I feel it is more opaque than the others. I will also use white gouache, gesso, or white acrylic paint at times.
