Another Friday Face Off is here! I still haven't completed the page spread for my ballpoint pen mermaid but I did get some more work done on her. She is pretty much completed but I've yet to add more elements to do with the sea around her.
This is where I left her last Friday.
And this is where she's at today
To see what other Friday Face Off participants have done for this week, click HERE. Feel free to come join us each Friday over at Nicole's blog.
And here are a few more older ballpoint
sketches. If I've done them any justice, you may even recognise a few of
them. All done freehand with a BIC blue ballpoint pen.
The one below was done with a Staedtler brown ballpoint pen
And that ends my post for today. I hope you have a nice and relaxing weekend.
Love, Light and Peace
good morning, beautiful art amazing faces
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday and weekend Kathy
Not sure about them all, but I recognize the first two! Great portraits.
ReplyDeleteFaces are definitely your forte Serena. These are gorgeous! Have a nice and relaxing weekend also, and hopefully no asthma attacks too. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteNice portraits. All of them look familiar to me.
ReplyDeleteUuuooohhhh. Your portraits make me want to be a more accomplished artist. The mermaid is beyond stunning. The other portraits could be featured in a gallery. You have such a light touch that one line brings out an expression. AND with ink. That is true talent. I don't know if I could do ink. Ya know can't erase. LOL. Thank you for joining in on FFO. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI hope my comment went through.
ReplyDeleteKathy - Thank you. ❤️ I hope you have a lovely weekend too.
ReplyDeleteBarbara - Ah yes. Sam and Dean Winchester from Supernatural. hehe The third is supposed to be Bobby, their father's long-time friend, who becomes like a second Dad to the boys.
Erika - Thanks for the lovely comment. ❤️ Enjoy your weekend. x
Gene - Thank you! 😊
Nicole - You do lovely portraits! ❤️
I went for a few years where I only ever drew in black ink, no pencil at all. I did a 75 day ink only challenge. I think that gave me a lot of confidence because you have to commit to the line. You also learn to love the mistakes if they can't be covered up. lol Ballpoint pen is great because you can use light pressure to get softer lines, very much like working with pencil. Can't erase it though.
Yes, your comment went through. I now have Moderation turned on.
Have a lovely weekend! x
Ooooh the Winchester boys, drool lol....I had such a crush on the actor who played their father too, well done Serena! I love your lady too and how you drew her hair on the opposite page! Oh you are so talented!! ♥♥
ReplyDeleteYou are so good Serena!!
ReplyDeleteShe is awesome without a background. :)
ReplyDeleteLove Supernatural!! ;)
Amazing work, each one with it's own character. Your work with ink is a real delight to see, so inspiring. I especially love the later in the brown pen she is so expressive. Stunning talent.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes this FFO Tracey x
I love your completed beauty you started last week. She is fabulous. I never watched Supernatural, which is why I didn't recognize any of the ball point pen art. It is gorgeous, though. You draw beautifully and have a great touch.
