My son lives in the city so we went in to visit him today.
The view from his 60th floor apartment.
We had brunch at The Groove Train by the riverside.
I took some photos on our walk along the riverside.
The Kookaburra Queen paddle wheeler
which takes people on lunch, dinner or special event cruises.
We cruised on this beauty way back in 1998.

My favourite tree is the Queensland Bottle Tree
This one was in ANZAC Square
There were a few of these beautiful trees in the Square
I hope you've all been enjoying a beautiful weekend!
~ Love, light and peace ~
Mikayla is growing up so fast! What a cutie she is. The bottle tree is fascinating...I've never seen anything like it before. I love it when you share plants and trees from your part of the world.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I could live 60 stories up in an apartment! My vertigo would probably go crazy but it's an amazing view from there.
Yes, she is, Janet....and she'll have a little sister in a couple of months. We can hardly wait!
DeleteYour ears pop going up in the lift and there was one point I thought my vertigo was going to kick in but it didn't. Bradley had a hard time going up in the lift...being hearing impaired, he must have a sensitivity to air pressure.
Love,
Serena xo
Mikayla is such a doll! Lovely pictures of your "out and about", so nice to see something of where you live. I always pictured Brisbane right on the ocean but here it looks more like it's on a river...maybe it's both! love and hug, Kate
ReplyDeleteWoops, I got confused with your comment boxes and posted to facebook instead, so now I'm doing both.
That's okay, Kate...you can post to whichever comment box is easier for you. Yep, Brisbane is situated by the Brisbane River and if often called the River City. I think the bay-side areas are maybe a 30 minute drive from the city centre while the coast is further on.
DeleteI love 'Sunday Snippets' - it's kind of like my "Where I Stand Sunday". Good choices - you really should paint that photo of Miss Mikayla - what a doll! That bottle tree is so interesting - amazing place you live!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pattie! I'm enjoying the Sunday Snippets a lot...fun to look back at the photos. :)
DeleteGorgeous pictures of our city Serena!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shaz ~ :)
Deletebeatiful photos of the park. I can see why that tree is your favorite. It is so cool looking!
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter is simply adorable! What a cute expression you caught from her!
Have a good week,
FranTxo
Thanks, Fran...even as a child, the bottle tree was my favourite. Mikayla is adorable and I just can't get enough of her. :)
DeleteCute pic of Mikayla! Glad you enjoyed your time at Reece's, sounds like a nice day out.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely day out, Shell. Mikayla is gorgeous...very photogenic.
DeleteLove,
Mum xo
Such a lovely weekend there, Serena! And your granddaughter Mikayla is gorgeous--she has the face of a china doll. :o) Happy Days ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tracy...it was a lovely day out.

Serena ~ your grand daughter is adorable! ~ Fantastic photos ~ well done ~ (A Creative Harbor)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carol. :)
DeleteI love seeing snapshots of your world, Serena. Makes it feel as if we're not half way across the globe! Lovely, refreshing, sunny pictures. Hope you are doing well. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenny. I'm so glad you like the pics. xo
Deletewhat a neat looking tree :D
ReplyDeleteand i think i would get vertigo if i had to live that high all the time lol
I think the down-side is waiting on, and going up in, the lifts. I felt a little dizzy at one point and thought my vertigo would kick in but, luckily, it didn't.
DeleteThe 60th floor. Yikes! Nice view, but scary! Mikayla is so beautiful. And those bottle trees are so cool. Have never seen anything like it. Cody is always a love. Hope your week is going well. Hugs, Tammy
ReplyDeleteFunnily enough, I thought it would feel scary up that high as I'm not a fan of heights but I actually felt very secure. The view was FANTASTIC!! So much to take in.
DeleteHugs,
Serena xo
Family , sunshine and city sights make for great snippets. Have a lovely week. x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bron...you have a lovely week too. :)
DeleteI have never seen a Queensland Bottle tree!!! How gorgeous!!! Little Mikayla is so beautiful!!! Love all your photos! I can't believe your son lives on the 60th floor!!!!! How neat is that? What a view!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie. Yes, I was a little dubious about him living 60 floors up but it really does feel secure and I couldn't stop taking in the view....it was awesome! Just think, they get to see all the fireworks when they have events in the city too. Reece is keen to see electrical storms which won't be too long with summer on the way. :)
DeleteMikayla is such a sweetie pie, as usual. :)
ReplyDelete60 stories is way too high for me, but I love those bottle trees. Looks like you have a great visit.
Cody is so cute!
love and hugs!!
She sure is, Rita! I agree, it was nice to visit but I wouldn't want to live that high up either.
DeleteHave a lovely weekend,
Serena xo
The are all such gorgeous images! Wonderful to see your bubbly sunshiney personality shining through Serena!
