Sunday Snippets and Sunday Sketches

Photos from my week -

It was Father's Day here in Australia so
I hope all the Dads had a great day!

I had Mum and Dad over for Sunday lunch.

A pic of my Dad
He will turn 80 later in the month!

Flowering cactus

Cody grabbed the free shelf as I was folding up the birdcage covers to put there.

He makes a cute shelf-sitter

Cody with Jack, both waiting to see what my next move will be.
They follow from room to room. lol
Jack hates the camera!
Every time he sees it, he gets all self-conscious and tries to look away. lol

Today was the first time I used my new Crock-pot,
A roast for the meat-eaters who
declared it a great success.
I made a delicious vegetarian meal for Beau, Mum and I.

We played Yahtzee in the afternoon...
Lots of fun!

Yesterday, I had to do some mending to my favourite tunic

Unfortunately, my first entry in Sunday Sketches is pretty dismal.
I didn't get much time with it being Father's Day but
here is a quick ballpoint pen sketch I did of Cody
in my pocket Moleskine sketchbook.
Amazingly, he actually stayed still long enough!

    1. Thanks, Krissie....I feel great now! I would never have guessed about a crockpot roast either but my daughter did her roast in a crockpot and it turned out beautiful and tender so I did the same. Just brown the roast on all sides before placing it in the crockpot. Add beef stock to almost cover roast....I also added a diced onion, some Worcestershire sauce and some tomato sauce. Then cook on low for eight hours. The meat eaters loved it. :)

  2. Lovely! I never use my crock pot, but whenever anyone talks about using theirs, I get inspired to try to get it out again.

    That cactus is beautiful!!

  3. Happy birthday month to your dad and happy father's day, too. I cracked up when I saw the look on Jack's face -- it's like he thinks he did something wrong. Ha! Such sweeties they both are. Vegetarian meal for me, please. Yahtzee is one of our favorite games to play around here. And you, my dear, could never have draw anything poorly. Even your quick sketches are better than anything I could hope to do. Best wishes, Tammy

    1. Thanks, Tammy! Yep....he gets all self-conscious every time he sees the camera coming his way. lol For the vegetarians, I made satay tofu which we had with roasted veggies and mashed potatoes...the satay gravy was delicious! We had a great time playing Yahtzee as it's been a while since we last played. xo
