A mug I covet...

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday.  Bad pain day unfortunately. I'm off to see my regular doctor again this morning as my gynaecologist is away on holidays for nearly 8 weeks!

Anywhoo, I did this mug sketch a couple of days ago and I still haven't done any journaling on the page....maybe today.

Pencil-free sketch using Pigma Micron & ZIG Millenium pens, Derwent Inktense water soluble pencils and Mungyo watercolour crayons in A5 sketchbook.

I love this mug but it doesn't belong to me. I just covet it from the sidelines. It actually belongs to my daughter, Michelle....a gift from her sister-in-law.  I am drawn to its colour and detail every time I see it and maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to find one very similar.

Here are some of the different process stages -

I participate in the Creative Every Day group where we check-in once a week.

Mikayla's (granddaughter) first birthday is this Saturday and we're all looking forward to celebrating her big day with her. I'm just praying I don't end up in hospital before then. It's hard to believe a year has nearly passed since she made her grand entrance to the world. I had the honour of being a witness to her birth and the experience is something I will treasure always.

  2. That is a striking mug! I can see why you covet it. ;)

I pray you get some relief or answers today. I know you would be heartsick to miss Mikayla's first birthday. She is such a huge blessing in your life and brings everyone such joy! (Including me!) Please let us know how you are doing, my friend...when you can. I went through hell before my hysterectomy, so I can empathize. :(

Prays, gentle hugs, love, and well wishes. :):)

  12. A big big Happy Birthday to Mikayla and how time flies. I can't believe she is a year old already. I'm still picturing you making her blanket and her painting for the wall and other things and now it's Number Uno. Thats great and so is that cup you sketched. Great job. I do hope you feel better. Take care.

  13. Hey Serena, I love your collage of your creative work. And that mug just pops with the beautiful color and the black. Lovely! Glad to hear the boys had a great time at the concert. My first real concert was Aerosmith in the 80's and my ears rang for days afterwards. :) Hope you are feeling better. Happy almost birthday to Mikayla. I've not been sleeping well of late either, and finding it hard to visit blogs as I would like. Hope your day is great. Best wishes, Tammy

  18. Sorry to hear you're in so much pain. *Hugs*

You could always get one of those "design your own mug" kits and duplicate the mug for yourself.

Happy early 1st birthday to Mikayla!
