Day 4 - Shells - Blogtoberfest

Today, Brad, Beau, Aaron (sons) and I had a lovely lunch out at a local tavern

with my Mum and Dad.

Michelle (daughter) and Mikayla (Granddaughter) came along too.

My Dad was lucky enough to win just over $1200 on the Pokies!

Mum won two separate lots of $40 while Brad won $30.

Michelle and I had no luck at all. :(
I must admit that I've never been a fan
of poker machines.
I find them to be quite boring.
And, no, that's not sour grapes! lol

Anywhoo, I decided on 'shells' for my sketch today.

I love shells and have them displayed

around the house.
I adore anything to do with the sea.
I love the colours of the bottles in the pic below.
They also make me think of the sea.

So here it is....

My #4 sketch in the "75 sketches in 75 consecutive days" challenge.

I'm feeling quite tired so I think I'll be getting an early night.

Day 3 - Succulents

Check out this gorgeous, plump, shiny succulent.
I don't know it's name but
I love it.

To think it started out as a little baby that hitch-hiked its way home
with a different succulent I bought back in 2009.
This one is obviously a slow-grower.

I've had vertigo hanging over me all day today.
Such a weird, woozy-like feeling.
It's a wonder I managed my daily sketch at all
but I did.

Sketch #3 of the 75 sketches in 75 day project.

Yet another succulent.

As luck would have it,
this sketch also qualifies me for this week's
Artist's Play Room.
The theme was 'BOTANICAL'.

Day Two - Blogtoberfest & a sketch

As I sit here typing, there is quite a noisy, cold wind blowing outside.

It makes me grateful to be indoors.

Brad, Aaron, and I went to Garden City by bus today.

On the walk to the bus stop, we passed this group of ibis near the creek.
I wonder if they're seasonal in this area because I haven't seen any
around here for a while now.

I also spotted these morning glories, 

with their pretty splash of purple and pink, 

among the long grasses nearby.

The weather forecast had predicted possible rain today but, thankfully, it stayed away. 

I didn't fancy the idea of getting wet.

On our walk home, I found a feather which may have belonged to one of the ibis

we'd seen earlier in the day.

Naturally, I took it home to sketch for Day 2 of the 75 day sketch project.

I'll close off now as my daughter, Michelle, is due to drop my Granddaughter off 

at any tick of the clock.  Michelle and Alex will be going out to dinner

in celebration of their second wedding anniversary so I get to baby-sit.
