Day 4 - Shells - Blogtoberfest

Today, Brad, Beau, Aaron (sons) and I had a lovely lunch out at a local tavern
with my Mum and Dad.
Michelle (daughter) and Mikayla (Granddaughter) came along too.
My Dad was lucky enough to win just over $1200 on the Pokies!
Mum won two separate lots of $40 while Brad won $30.
Michelle and I had no luck at all. :(
I must admit that I've never been a fan
of poker machines.
I find them to be quite boring.
And, no, that's not sour grapes! lol

Anywhoo, I decided on 'shells' for my sketch today.
I love shells and have them displayed
around the house.
I adore anything to do with the sea.
I love the colours of the bottles in the pic below.
They also make me think of the sea.

So here it is....

My #4 sketch in the "75 sketches in 75 consecutive days" challenge.

I'm feeling quite tired so I think I'll be getting an early night.

How was your day?

~ Love, light and peace ~

  2. Your displays are just lovely, Serene and the pen drawing is so clever. Do you do beach-combing! I used to love it!

    1. Thanks, Gwen...no worries about the misspelling of my name...I didn't even notice as some members of my family called me 'Serene' for years so I'm used to it. :) I've always love beach-combing but haven't done so for many, many years....haven't been to the beach in years either. :(

  4. The detail in your work is amazing. Beautifully rendered shell! Hope you regain some energy. Seasonal change can affect metabolism in our bodies I think.

    1. I'm the opposite...I get bored 'playing' the poker machines. I'd rather people-watch. lol

  7. I was wondering what "pokies" were--LOL! Boy! They were lucky winners!!

I love shells, too. I remember the tiny clam shaped pastel ones I collected when I was a kid visiting down in Florida, but I didn't get any larger ones because the beaches were picked pretty clean where we were. That is an awesome shaped shell and a lovely sketch. :) :)

    1. LOL...yep, we Aussies like to nickname just about everything. lol

It's very hard to find fancy shells on our Gold Coast beaches too. I usually buy the packs of fancy ones. Thanks for the compliments on my sketch ~ xo

  8. I too love shells, oh and blue bottles. I have both displayed around our house but not together so will have to give it a try as your arrangement looks great. The sketch is gorgeous. G

    1. Thanks, Georgy! There's just something about blue/blue-green bottles that I love and they always make me think 'ocean'....which makes them a perfect compliment for seashells. :)

    1. Thanks, Krissie! You sound like my Mum when it comes to the pokies. lol The most I've won on the pokies in one hit was $140 going back a few months. I rarely play them...I prefer Keno but haven't had much luck with it. :(
