We had Mum and Dad over for lunch and a nice afternoon
of playing Yahtzee and spending quality time together.
Brad had a lovely selection of older songs playing because we
know Mum and Dad enjoy listening to them.
Well actually Brad and I enjoy listening to them too.
I became quite emotional at one point and
had to sneak off to my room to shed some tears.
It saddens me to see my Dad deteriorate as time goes on.
He seems so fragile now and it breaks my heart.
I am grateful for these special moments we share together.
I've been feeling quite tired this week with so much going on.
So, I only had time for a quick sketch this evening.
A candle.
A candle.

Well done on keeping up with all these challenges with everything going on. Be sure to look after yourself!
ReplyDeleteIt's good that your parents live so close and you can spend time with them as they get older. Here's hoping you can get some rest this week...feel better.
ReplyDeletelovely artwork, as always, Serena. So sorry to hear about your Dad's health. What a wonderful gift it must be to spend sweet time with you parents. xoxo. I hope you're feeling better very soon! xoxo
ReplyDeleteit is good that you are spending time with your parents now, making good memories for when time might get tough
ReplyDeleteI can relate. I hadn't seen my dad for two years and he looked so different this summer--frail, tired, forgetful. It's hard. So glad you had time to visit--and I LOVE Yahtzee!!! Lovely candle. When it gets cold out I want candles lit once in a while. I hardly ever light them in the summer. Glad you had a nice day together!! :):)
