No. 2 son, Beau, moved out today so
it was total upheaval for the majority of the day.
I also decided to completely reorganise my own bedroom.
A momentous task in itself.
I had a set of drawers that were falling apart
for the longest time
so they are no more!
I replaced them with white
cube/shelf units.
I LOVE my bedroom now!

Aaron helped clean up Beau's room mostly
because he wants to claim it as a study for himself. lol
Funny that when no.3 son, Reece, moved out in July,
we had a major change of rooms then too.
The lounge-room, dining room, and my studio
were all changed about.
Needless to say,
after today's efforts
after today's efforts
my body is in major protest.
Pain all over,
worse in my back and hands.
I did manage a horrendous sketch of Cody.
You can tell my heart wasn't in it as
I was/am still feeling SO tired, sore, and exhausted.
To be honest, I'm surprised I didn't
end up with another migraine.
#13 of 75 pen/ink sketches
My fur-kid, Cody, fast asleep.
Pencil-free sketch in A6 Moleskine sketchbook
using ZIG Millennium and Micron pens.
Beau has been doing a course in Horticulture at TAFE
and he has taken a keen interest in gardening.
He planted this creeper a few weeks ago
and it's now flowering.
So pretty!
Yes, perhaps another sketch subject.
I hope you're all enjoying a great weekend!
~ Love, light and peace ~
Your 'horrendous' sketch is glorious! I work at TAFE. Small world if your boy studies at the same campus as me! I hope your body feels better soon. Pxo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Paula....I'll have to check with Beau to find out which campus he goes to and let you know. All I know is that it's somewhere over the north side. :)
DeleteYou could never do a horrendous sketch! But I definitely know how you are feeling - after my 9 hour cleaning spree last Saturday, I was so tired and had major back pain. Cleaning and organizing always takes so much longer than expected but when it's done it is a very good thing. Hope you have a lovely Sunday. Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteAwwww....that's such a sweet thing to say, thanks, Tammy. My back hates housework and, yes, it's always great after all the cleaning is done. xo
DeleteGreat post, Mum!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you managed to get your room looking the way you want it, no good that you're in so much pain, though. I hope it'll be gone soon! I don't think your sketch of Cody is horrendous at all. It does look pretty good still! Love the pics of the creeper Beau planted, I'm glad it's flowering!
Love Brad!
xoxo
Thanks, Bradley ~ xo
DeleteThe sketch of Cody looks pretty darn cute to me. And I can sympathize with you about all the moving and re-arranging of things. I did my share of that this summer and I hope that's it for a long while!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janet! I know you've had a lot of redecorating and organising yourself. :)
DeleteBeautiful flowers and cody's sketch looks awesome. You shouldn't tire yourself out, you just work to hard. Take it easy. Enjoy the days ahead. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gloria. Unfortunately, it all seemed to happen at once and I got the urge to do my bedroom too....crazy I know. Hope to find some relaxation time soon. xo
DeleteI recognise Cody so the sketch is good! :-) I'm surprised you've managed to sketch after such a tiring day. I wouldn't have managed that, so really well done! Have a good Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Hwee! I was so tempted to let the sketch slide but I didn't want to fizzle out on the challenge so soon. :)
DeleteWell done on sketching through the pain and fatigue! For the viewer, the sketch of Cody is sweet. For you it will take you back to how you felt at the moment of sketching him. And that is a great thing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ruca! That's a great point! xo
Deletegorgeous flower! going to have to get another pup to fill in the empty space ;)
ReplyDeleteyes rest and get better!
Thanks, Jennifer....I plan to rest up very soon. :)
DeleteSerena, what a beautiful sketch of Cody!! I could just cuddle the paper. :-) Wonderful job. And i don't know how i'll feel when my son moves out. He's going on 17, so i better start getting used to the idea i guess.... (although i don't want to! At least not yet). So nice to catch up here on your blog. Love the new font you're using. So easy on the eyes. And your work is always so fantastic. Take care of yourself Serena. xox
ReplyDeleteAwwww...thanks, Pauline! When they leave the family nest, it's good in some ways but sad in others. At least, I still get to see them regularly. I'm quite liking the new font too, thanks ~ xo
DeleteWow, that's a huge day! Your journal entry captures the emotions and exhaustion (and the opportunity) perfectly.
ReplyDeletexx
Thanks, Kat ~ :)
DeleteOh, gosh...yes...an emotional day, for sure! Glad no migraine today!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a migraine since either....hope it stays that way for a while. xo
DeleteI feel exhausted just reading about your epic day! Take it easy and rest your body. All except for your drawng hand! Gorgeous little doggy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cindy! I'm hoping the challenge commitments will keep me on the ball as far as the daily sketching goes.
Deletesketch looks v good. Kids moving out or in for that matter is always stressful! take care!
ReplyDeleteYou got that right, Krissie ~ xo
DeleteLove the sketch. Sorry to hear your in pain though.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stacey ~ :)
DeleteRest that sore body! Now you are down to three of you. I'm surprised you didn't want to claim that room for your studio. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe Cody sketch is really good! And I love the flowers. Definitely would make a nice sketch this month.
Take care of yourself! Glad you got rid of the old broken down dresser. :)
Yep, just three of us now. I was tempted to use the room for my studio but I have a larger space set up in the garage. :)
DeleteLove and hugs ~ xo
