I have noticed a huge trend in sketchbook journals of late and I really like the idea. So, being that I'm self-taught, I decided to brush up on my drawing skills. I visited the local library and chose some drawing books which I would highly recommend - So You Thought You Couldn't Draw by Sandra McFall Angelo and Drawing Problems and Solutions by Trudy Friend My practise drawing is from the Sandra McFall Angelo book. This one was done using a grid and is close to art card size. I made a start on drawing the same elephant without a grid but was distracted by that thing called 'life' so maybe you will see that in a later post.
I hope you are all enjoying the Easter break.
Hi Serena,
ReplyDeleteI'm Sandra Angelo, the author of So You Thought You Couldn't DrawTM. I signed up to receive a Google alert whenever my name is mentioned and I got the notice about your kind comment about my workbook.
I am very impressed with the drawing you did of the elephant. You show great promise.
It seems you live in Australia, is that right?
You will be happy to know that next week, I am launching the World's Very First Online Art Classroom. Now people will be able to study with me no matter where they live.
I'm so excited because I have gotten correspondence for so long from people all over the world who want to come to class but can't. Now they can study with me... online.
If you want the link to the grand opening, let me know. The launch is at 10:00 a.m. PST Tues. April 10. I will be answering emails from 10-noon that day and all day Wed. April 11.
My email after April 10 will be sandra@artwithsandra.com. My email now is sangelo1@cox.net. If you want to receive the notice of the launch, send me an email.
Good luck with your drawing. I am always happy to hear when my book has blessed or helped someone.
Keep drawing,
Sandra Angelo
Thank you so much for dropping by, Sandra! I'm also pleased you like my elephant drawing and I can't wait to practise some more of the projects from your book.
