photo a day - january 8th - herb gardens & twilight

today, i dropped aaron over to michelle's (daughter) for a few days and we had a lovely visit. i took this photo of michelle's herb garden which was my 'secret santa' gift to her.....three of the tubs with herbs hanging on the railing. she was so happy with her new herbs and planters that she went out and bought more varieties. doesn't her apartment balcony garden look great?!
we're all missing aaron terribly......even, cody, the dog is moping around. it just feels weird that he's not here. he is having a great time at his sister's place though and sunday will come around soon enough.

i read the book twilight in two days and thoroughly enjoyed it. generally, i read a lot of books....most, non-fiction, some of which require fairly heavy thinking....and it was quite refreshing that this book was a light, easy read that did a good job at keeping the suspense going. today, i started the second book in the series - new moon - so far, so good.

What an oasis of greenery! It does my soul good to look at this because outside my window, all I see is snow. :)

I must read the Twilight books...or at least start with one. Maybe this weekend.

the balcony looks wonderful with the herbs and a lovely setting to go out and pick some for dinner.

Beautiful balcony herb garden! And her plants look to be thriving. Isn't is wonderful how a few plants dress up any area?

Emjoy your books- these vampire books and movies are all the buzz here in the States.

Great photo. Even in an apartment, you can have a nice garden!

Enjoy your quiet time and book! I think I need to read this book that so many are talking about. I only read nonfiction anymore...and like you some require much contemplation while reading.

I have my grandkids here so I'm late getting a photo up, will do it later.

I liked New Moon better then Twilight, a bit better written.

The balcony looks great! Its a great use of space and adds colour to the balcony :)

There is nothing to compare to having a supply of fresh herbs at hand, and they smell so nice in a garden too. I imagine that her balcony is a lovely retreat in the evenings.
