My sister phoned me to let me know that Lachie, the Jack Russell Terrier I painted, passed away a few days ago. Lachie has battled with cancer for some time now and had a leg amputated last year in the hope that it would save his life. Sadly, it wasn't to be as the cancer had progressed to his lungs. Deidre is understandably devastated.
I'm glad that I stuck with painting the plaid blanket instead of a plain coloured one because it was Lachie's favourite blanket and buried with him. I feel so sad for Deidre as it wasn't long ago that she lost her beloved Rainbow Lorikeet. I do hope my paintings will bring her some peace and comfort.

Oh so sad but you have left her with a wonderful memory in your painting.
that is so sad :( but at least she has a wonderful painting to look at when she feels sad.

Oh Serena! I am so sorry. What a beautiful guy he was! Give your sister a kiss from Julie in south Florida and tell her I am thinking of her.
So sad. I love my little dog, Sophie, more than anything in this world and it will be a sad day when my little Bichon mutt dies. The wonderful painting you did is such a sweet memory of her dog.

Thanks, Becky. Sorry for the confusion....Deidre is actually my sister's Aunt-in-law and Lachie was her dog. My sister was the one who told me the sad news when she found out from Deidre.
Serena, so sad, I couldn't imagine losing my Jack Russell. He is always with me and so much like me! Don't tell my wife. Your painting was awesome and I'm sure a treasure to your sister.
