Full Moon ceremony and Knitting

Lately, I've been getting into a habit of reading in bed each night before I go to sleep so, after finishing another chapter of The Story of Edgar Sawtelle last night around 9 PM, it was time for lights out. At around 10:30 PM, I suddenly jolted upright with a knowing that it was a Full Moon night. I quickly jumped out of bed, checked the Australian Government Geo-Science website just to be sure and it was confirmed.....the night had gifted us with a beautiful full moon DownUnder. So I gathered up my tools for my Earth Healing ritual, and made my way outside. The full moon was bright and clear, claiming centre stage in the night sky with not a cloud to be seen. I ceremoniously laid out my tools - a clay disc to represent Mother Earth, a green candle to represent Nature, two rose quartz gems to help in sending love and healing to the Earth, and a Buddha bell to signal the beginning and end of my prayer meditation. I felt a sense of hopefulness as I meditated for a while on sending love and healing to the Earth. After the ceremony, I went back to bed feeling in a very positive and happy mindset. There is still a lot of good in this world.

Today, I did some alterations to a pair for board shorts for Beau, then later, taught Brad how to knit a flat piece on a circular loom. I confess that I did look up the directions on Google and I found this link on YouTube to be the most helpful.

The scarf Brad wants to make is now under way

I hope to get my Artist's Way post up tomorrow so stay tuned...

monday photo-a-week & more work on room canvas

hi everyone!

it's been crazy-busy here the past five days.

i did my earth healing full moon ritual on friday night. the stars were hidden behind a cover of clouds threatening to dump rain but the moon was visible for a little while until the clouds blocked it from view too. anywhoo, i meditated on healing the earth and said prayers for those who are ailing. i also asked that the rain stay away for michelle's big move which was to be the following morning.

a rainy saturday morning arrived but, by the time the boys and i arrived over at michelle's and alex's place, the rain had eased and we had a beautiful sunny day from that point on.....just PERFECT! we started out at 7:30 AM and were pretty much on the go until 10:30 PM, except for a quick lunch and dinner break.....A LONG, HARD DAY! i have been suffering terribly with calf muscle pain since which was caused by continually going up and down two flights of steps carrying things to the van. my calf muscles are still sore today but there is a slight improvement.

i've also been popping over to michelle's new house over the past couple of days to help out where i can. it's FANTASTIC having michelle live so close to us again and, yesterday, she and i even did some grocery shopping together. YAY!

MONDAY PHOTO-A-WEEK

after a night of rain, we were greeted with a foggy morning

and, on the way home from dropping reece at the bus stop, i spotted a bunch of galahs on the roadside.

and there's more.....as of sunday, we have a new family member. after much deliberation, michelle decided to part with her male budgie as she didn't want them breeding so gifted him to beau. he has settled happily into the family.

the progress on my room canvas is moving slowly but surely. here's where i'm at so far.....still more work to do on the background. nothing has been planned out. i'm just going with the flow of what i feel drawn to do while standing at the canvas. such fun!

i will be catching up with everyone's blogs over the coming days as, for now, i'm off to michelle's place to help out a little more.

full moon earth healing and mantra card

i have recently joined robyn's full moon earth healing circle with the collective aim to help heal the earth through our monthly rituals which are carried out on the night of a full moon. last night, there was a full moon in our night sky so i braved the cold and went outside to sit under the pergola. i lit the candle (pictured below) as the start to my ritual and then i stared up at the full moon and invoked its magic to help heal the earth.

i meditated on this for around ten minutes before the cold winter breezes got the better of me.
after saying a silent prayer of thanks, i headed back inside, feeling happy that i had contributed my energies to healing the earth.

the full moon earth healing ritual also inspired my mantra card for this week.
the full moon is believed to enhance psychic powers and abilities. it is helpful in all forms of magic and enhances power where it is needed most.

so my affirmation this week is -
i am confident in my abilities
may this encourage me to be an instrument in the earth's healing
