back to the grind.....

my baby girl (yes, she's 23 but she's still my baby girl) went home tonight and i miss her already. aaron took it pretty hard as michelle has always been like a second mum to him and he wanted her to stay longer. we have promised that he can stay at michelle's and alex's place for a couple of days over the christmas break so he's already looking forward to that.

getting back to the grind, here is a canvas i'm currently working on.....it's inspired by kelly rae's book 'taking flight'.

i'm very new to all this mixed media stuff but i've thoroughly enjoyed the process so far. at this point, i'm not really sure where i'm headed with it but i'm hoping something will come to me.

i'm also working on some christmas projects at this time and will post some pics soon.

love, light and peace ~

I would love to hear how you added the colour, what process and products did you use? Are they pastels? I love it! Multimedium stuff around text? That is right up my alley and yours is stunning.

I love the colors you are putting together--especially in the bottom one. These look so feminine and pretty--love em!

PS My "baby" just turned 34 in November. I know what you mean. :)

Wow, Serena, this is so pretty! I really love the all layers and the pink and green colors. I'm especially liking the way that little strip of pink with the roses stands out there - reminds me of strawberry ice-cream. xoxo Serena

Your mixed medium canvas is coming along great!

I've been working on paperdoll ornaments for a swap all week. they have to all be mailed by the 10th so I better keep plugging away at it!

For me, not knowing where the painting is going is the joy. It thentakes its own path. Go with the flow!
