Hi everyone,
I didn't start out crabby when I started this piece because I thought it was
going to be a fairly simple sketch. My plan was to do a plain black and white
crab but, as I worked on it, I decided to add colour and more detail. What I
thought was going to be a quick and easy sketch turned into a more complex one, thanks to my obsession with detail. So that made me a little crabby with
myself.
I wasn't at home most of the day either because we popped over to visit my
Mum. Then, when we dropped my sister home, we stayed for a cuppa before heading
home. My other son visited late afternoon and, when he left, it was time to
sort dinner. It's been a pretty full-on day and not much time to
sketch.
So this crab sketch is a work-in-progress.
I will finish him tomorrow and post pics.
For now, this is as far as I got
I will journal the days events into the blank area when completed

This fabulous for a quick sketch. Love the crab. You are going to have an amazing journal by the end of the month.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Erika. :)
DeleteYour art makes me happy! Cabby or not this is just full of life and color and happy. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely compliment! Enjoy your day. :)
DeleteOh wow, Serena. I am totally impressed with this beautiful crab. I can relate to being obsessive about detail, although I've never created anything anywhere NEARLY as beautiful as what you are working on.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you like the crab, Elizabeth. Yep, my obsession with detail can work against me at times when I want to be loose and care-free with my art.
DeleteSometimes in our rush, things turn out wonderful - this one sure did! Love the color splashes.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pattie. I hope I don't wreck it when I finish it up. lol
DeleteI just love your crab, a fabulous drawing and painting.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Wendy. :)
Deletewell even if it made you a bit crabby its beautiful. Sounds like you had a nice visit with you mum and sons.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandy. Yes, it was a busy day but a good one. :)
Deletethat is cool. Actually something I would like to see in real life. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)

Glad you like him, Rita. xo
DeleteMy dear friend Sami who hosts Monday Murals (I'm a weekly participant) is a member of some ladies voting group. She explained to me once that it was illegal NOT to vote in Australia (she lives in Perth). I guess I was surprised more people didn't know that about Australia. I wish we could declare the day a legal holiday here in the States so everyone had the opportunity to go to the polls without fear of being late getting to work.
ReplyDeleteIt's been that way for as long as I can remember. I think it's important that all vote as it makes it a more fair result. :)
DeleteHI Tracy! So nice to 'see' you! I didn't realise you were participating in AEDM too. I will go check out your blog shortly. I'm glad you like my sketches. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely nice to connect again! :)
