AEDM - Day 24 - More on Kya

Hi everyone,

I was hoping to work on the Puffin for posting today but I came down with a nasty tummy bug and it drained me of energy which, might explain why I was so exhausted yesterday. So it was rest and recuperation instead.

So in lieu of art, you get a photo post today for AEDM.

Do you ever get the feeling you're being watched? lol

Kya is actually sitting on an empty box that contained a vacuum cleaner that my son bought last week. I cut a hole out of it so she has herself a little cubby. She likes that she can watch me in the kitchen from this viewpoint. I will turn around and there is her little head looking over at me from the end of the dining table. She's so cute!

Kya loves when we buy things that come in big boxes, even huge boxes.

It is taboo to throw out a cardboard box if I think Kya might enjoy it first.
She will climb in and sleep for hours.

That goes for broken washing baskets too.
As you can see, she had this one shredded.
Yes, she made quite a mess everywhere but she loved it.

And that's about all for now...I'm still not feeling well.

Hopefully, I will be back tomorrow with the finished Puffin.

Love, Light and Peace to All.

  1. Kya's lovely. She does look as if she's waiting for her meal to be served up. When you think that she didn't start out life with you she certainly looks at home.

  2. She is a beauty and you got some super photos Serena. I haven't had a cat for several years, and I miss them. One of my dogs, although he never hurt the cats when we had them, is rather protective of us, and I'm not sure how it'd be if we brought in a kitty. I sure hope you feel better soon too. Take care. 3. I really wish you felt better, Serena. I hope you get well soon. Kya is a real beauty. She reminds me a bit of Squiggles, but he's about six times her size. Yes, he's that heavy. I am also always amazed at your minimalist home. I want that, too, but I can't seem to get rid of any of my antiques.

  4. Such wonderful photos Serena, Kya is so sweet! I'd love to have a cat, but my husband is dead against it. I have got my two sweet rescue guinea pigs though.
I hope you're feeling much better tomorrow.

  6. I hope you feel better soon! Getting sick right now is scary in itself, I know.
Kya is a gorgeous cat! Annie is the first and only cat I've lived with who doesn't like boxes or getting inside of anything. I think maybe she relates it to when she was captured as a wild, pregnant young cat. Yes, I saved any kind of boxes for my cats...until Annie. :)

  8. Sorry you aren't feeling well. Feel better soon.

Our cats used to love boxes (when we had cats, I mean). Bags too. Even our least playful cat would suddenly become playful if there was an empty box or carrier bag to play in. LOL!
