Crochet and the man of steel.....

My blah feeling yesterday turned into an even bigger blah feeling today so I didn't get too much done at all. I've been dealing with headaches for a few days now which I'm blaming on the heat. It's been very muggy and hot. My parents picked the worst climate to migrate to all those years ago when I was only four. Sorry to my fellow Aussies but, I just can't stand the hot, humid heat we get here in Queensland... and it's not even summer yet! Roll on winter, I say!!!

This morning, I ran a few errands, then Brad and I watched an episode or two of Smallville at lunchtime. I can no longer sit idle when watching TV so I worked on the summer vest I've been crocheting for Michelle.

It's progressing nicely but I'm a little nervous about the armholes considering I'm just winging the pattern. Wish me luck!

Love, light and peace

  1. What a beautiful crochet pattern! You are anmazing...seems everything you create is sheer perfection!!! Hope your head feels better soon!

  2. I hope you find some summer relief soon (I love all that heat and humidity. . .) Winter in closing in on us here and I am not loving that so much so, you think of me and I will think of you and maybe we can find the middle;)
Your crochet is looking good, you will figure it out, no doubt.

  3. It looks beautiful and I am sure you will get the armholes perfectly.

  4. I learned to knit but never to crochet. I love the lacy look of crocheting, tho, and I do wish you luck on figuring out the arm holes. I never could knit anything but a blanket or throw without a pattern--hehe! I hope the blahs pass soon. I hate the heat and humidity, too!! :):)

  5. Headaches are the worst. I've lived with them for most of my life. They are not nearly as bad as they used to be. I'm not sure if I outgrew them, just got so used to the pain that unless it's REALLY bad, I simply ignore it or the climate here is better for them. You may be onto something with the hot and humid weather being bad. I grew up in Georgia, which is horribly humid and hot and my headaches were far worse there. Here in coastal Southern California, it usually isn't humid, at least not like it is in the south. In any case, I feel for you. I know it is miserable to live like that.

The vest looks amazing! I never learned to crochet, though I do know how to knit.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  6. Oh Serena, sorry to hear you are having bad headaches. Hope you get better really soon.
I love the vest you are crocheting for Michelle. Your stitches are really neat. I am sure she will love it.

  7. very pretty pattern you are using :) at least if you do have problems with the arm holes its easy to unravel and start again.

    hope you are feeling better!!

  8. Your stitches are so nice and even!

I just finished a huge blanket and it turned out one end was quite a bit larger than the other;-0 Oh well, it's only for one of the kids. They won't notice;-)

  9. Serena you should come to New York...the air is wonderfully crisp- perfect for hot baths and hot tea.

I am with you, can't stand hot humid weather.

  10. The vest is looking fantastic. And I bet you do fine with the armholes.

I've been dealing with the blahs for awhile now, too. I've been blaming it on having a cold, then the flu, then allergies. But I'm thinking it's more than that- some vague discontentment with my life. Nothing I can put my finger on, just a feeling of restlessness. Perhaps my life has become too comfortable and I need to shake things up-LOL
