SO much fun!
anywhoo, a background for one of my art journals will have to suffice for AEDM today
i used the end of a paintbrush to write words into the wet gessoed background then, when dry, i applied some acrylic colours.
blues and greens RULE!!!
still heaps to go but this is as far as i got
before i do any more art i will need to do some serious tidying up at my art desk. what a MESS!!! how's a girl supposed to work like this?!! me thinks i need to get some tips from my dear friend rita who is always so neat and orderly.

~ love, light and peace ~
I have to laugh at your table because that's what mine looks like after some time creating with just about anything. I suppose there could be worse problems since I do find that tidying up goes faster than it does anywhere else around the house.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful desert rose. I love all the plant pictures you share with us, I may have to try to use some of them as inspiration for my watercolour sketch journal.
I love your choice of colours, greens and blues are very beautiful together, what are the white spots...are they gesso?
ReplyDeleteThat desert Rose is really inspiring so enlivening.
Gwen xx
To me your desk looks pretty productive, but I have to admit I get to a certain point and have to put every single little thing back in it's home, which last only a minute as then all the tools & things come straight back out to be used lol lovely creation, and I always like your daily extra photos, thanks for including them, Jennibellie x
ReplyDeleteAll the blues, greens and pinks soothe and lift the soul... :o)
ReplyDeleteblues and greens do rule, especially in your hands ;-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you got to spend some quality time with that grand daughter of yours. Always time well spent.

ReplyDeleteLove the way you photographed these. V soothing colours.
ReplyDeleteI think that a messy art desk is the sign of creativity at its best! Love your post - and that flower? Wow! What a pop of color.
ReplyDeleteGranddaughter time trumps everything. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your art journal! Depending on what I am making I can drag out a lot of stuff, too, you know--LOL! I'm just an OCD neatnick and I think it holds me back. :)
Your desert rose is beautiful!! Have fun watching the end of Smallville!! Loveya, Lady!! :):)

ReplyDeleteLooking beautiful and the desert rose is lovely too. I love the whole plant actually their shape is so unusual isn't it.
ReplyDeleteAs for the messy table I am no better than you. Mine is perpetually messy.
There seems to be a circle theme going on lately! I like your journal pages.
ReplyDeleteYour art space looks a lot like mine does right now. I seriously need a clean up soon.
You've achieved some fabulous effects with paint! I love the blues and greens! Hmm..,your desk looks familiar to me, except that mine is covered with fabric and paper!
ReplyDeleteLove your desert rose photos! Just beautiful!

ReplyDeleteSerena, blues and greens are my favorites. I see all the circles on your pages and I am reminded of the page I am doing right now. The circles signifying my dizziness and just going round and round. My doctor just got out of the hospital so I won't be able to see him till Thursday. Hopefully I won't be so dizzy by then. Love your pages and love that flower, it's awesome. Take care and thx for the info on vertigo.
ReplyDeletewow the colours in this post are amazing...the circles and then the pinks of that flower so vivid and vibrant inspiring lots of creative energy!
ReplyDeletelol..you're the second one from AEDM writing about your messy studio today. :) It's funny because I can't work if it's too clean. Makes me crazy. So, I've just come to accept I'm a messy slob. :D
ReplyDeleteLovely pages!! I really like those detail shots!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the positive feedback, everyone.
ReplyDeleteGwen, the white spots are done with Titanium White acrylic paint.
Shashi, I agree...the Desert Rose is quite an unusual plant which is what I love about it.
I love blues and greens... perfect for this time of year don't you think... loved seeing your desk... it looks productive and liked seeing the mandala again ... your photos are beautiful as always xx
ReplyDeleteFun stuff...love the colors of the creative fun!
ReplyDeleteI love your pages, so simple but yet so affective and I just love the texture in them
ReplyDeleteI have some of those flowers and didn't know what they were called, they are so pretty
Oh your table looks like mine, as soon as I clean it up, I start another project and it is back to they way it was again. Maybe a bigger table would be good for me but then I would just add more stuff to it wouldn't I? lol
Lee:)
Stunning shots!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, those blooms are beautiful! What a pretty plant. I reminds me of a plant my mom had... she called it a Christmas cactus. It's not the same but the flowers can be that same pretty pink. You make me want to go out and get a new plant!
ReplyDeleteLove your sea urchins! Beautiful backgrounds. I just love that turquoise color.
