Day 7 - AEDM & Nablopomo - art journal page & inspiration

today was crazy busy so i didn't get a chance to achieve much at all

i also got to spend some time with my gorgeous granddaughter, mikayla.
SO much fun!

anywhoo, a background for one of my art journals will have to suffice for AEDM today

i used the end of a paintbrush to write words into the wet gessoed background then, when dry, i applied some acrylic colours.

serene

blues and greens RULE!!!

love

joy

still heaps to go but this is as far as i got

before i do any more art i will need to do some serious tidying up at my art desk. what a MESS!!! how's a girl supposed to work like this?!! me thinks i need to get some tips from my dear friend rita who is always so neat and orderly.

  1. I have to laugh at your table because that's what mine looks like after some time creating with just about anything. I suppose there could be worse problems since I do find that tidying up goes faster than it does anywhere else around the house.

Beautiful desert rose. I love all the plant pictures you share with us, I may have to try to use some of them as inspiration for my watercolour sketch journal.

  3. To me your desk looks pretty productive, but I have to admit I get to a certain point and have to put every single little thing back in it's home, which last only a minute as then all the tools & things come straight back out to be used lol lovely creation, and I always like your daily extra photos, thanks for including them, Jennibellie x

  23. Serena, blues and greens are my favorites. I see all the circles on your pages and I am reminded of the page I am doing right now. The circles signifying my dizziness and just going round and round. My doctor just got out of the hospital so I won't be able to see him till Thursday. Hopefully I won't be so dizzy by then. Love your pages and love that flower, it's awesome. Take care and thx for the info on vertigo.

Gwen, the white spots are done with Titanium White acrylic paint.

Shashi, I agree...the Desert Rose is quite an unusual plant which is what I love about it.

  30. I love your pages, so simple but yet so affective and I just love the texture in them
I have some of those flowers and didn't know what they were called, they are so pretty
Oh your table looks like mine, as soon as I clean it up, I start another project and it is back to they way it was again. Maybe a bigger table would be good for me but then I would just add more stuff to it wouldn't I? lol

  31. Wow, those blooms are beautiful! What a pretty plant. I reminds me of a plant my mom had... she called it a Christmas cactus. It's not the same but the flowers can be that same pretty pink. You make me want to go out and get a new plant!

Love your sea urchins! Beautiful backgrounds. I just love that turquoise color.
